Cold Front Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Cold Front Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Cold weather does not affect smallmouth as much as it does largemouth. A Cold Front Smallmouth Bass Fishing was unexpected this time of year.

Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Mike and Chris traveling to Lake Erie for the Smallmouth bass.

The Presque Isle Bay and the Lake are both producing smallmouth. Mike and Chris put quality bass in the boat the whole trip.

The most effective technique here on the lake is a tube, drop shot or a swimming grub. Throw these patterns in 5 to 6 feet of water and hold on.

Mike and Chris caught over 30 smallmouth bass on their short trip. Chris was in luck on this trip and caught himself a 5 pound smallmouth.

The weather conditions took a turn on us; dropping the water temperature to 59 degrees. Smallmouth can endure the colder weather but they become more active as the summer goes on.

I really enjoyed fishing with Mike and Chris and we are looking forward to their next trip.
