Main Lake Bass Fishing

Main Lake Bass Fishing

Presque Isle Bay is starting to look beautiful as the weather begins to warm. The bass are moving off their beds into deeper waters. Main Lake Bass Fishing is something you must adjust to this time of year.

Smallmouth bass enjoy cooler water. Most are still shallow but we focused on the main lake and deeper points on this Fishing Charter.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Bruce and Neil, who were searching for the big ones on this trip.

Dragging or swimming the grubs along deeper beds and points was an effective method. Bruce and Neil put 40 plus fish in the boat and had a fantastic day. The biggest bass weighed 4 pounds 8 ounces.

The water temperature in the bay was at 77 degrees and the main lake was at 73 degrees. Smallmouth will continue to find cooler waters as it continues to heat up.

We had an excellent fishing charter and I am looking forward to fishing with Bruce and Neil again.
