Sight Fishing Smallmouth Bass

Sight Fishing Smallmouth Bass

Sight Fishing Smallmouth Bass has been incredible this season on Lake Erie and is only just getting started. Presque Isle Bay is producing amazing smallmouth bass fishing trips daily.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Lori and Curt Hobbs traveling for some Bass Fishing Lake Erie.

We focused in on the transitioning smallmouth bass and had a blast. Smallmouths are consistently transitioning from their spawn and you can catch them on their beds still.

Galidas Grubz are successful baits this time of year. You can also catch them on drop shot, wacky worms, tubes and jerk baits. Most of the bass are holding in 5 to 10 ft of water but you can catch them at any depth.

Lori and Curt caught right around 60 fish with 20 of them over 4 pounds. The biggest smallmouth bass weighed 4 pounds 9 ounces.

It was a pleasure to fish with this couple and we had an excellent trip out. I am looking forward to fishing with them again.
