Smallmouth Bass are one of the most sought-after fish species in Lake Erie. Fishing charters for smallmouth Bass make up around a quarter of all trips on the lake a year. Many Anglers arrive from all over the country to Lake Erie to Catch Small mouths.

The migration normally starts mid-April to early May. At which fish begin to move from their winter areas. Look around the first big drop-offs close to the spawn areas.

They begin to setting in water 15 to 30 feet deep. Look for structures that include rocks and current deposits on the lake bed. In spring bass fishing the spawn can be quite exciting.

So make sure you are able to tell what are spawning areas. The Bass while Spawning prefers a shallow flat lake bed close to the shore. Look for areas with a messy bottom with gravel, sand, and rock.
