Targeting Spawning Smallmouth Bass

Targeting Spawning Smallmouth Bass

Lake Erie is a beautiful place to catch smallmouth bass this time of year. Targeting Spawning Smallmouth Bass has been an effective technique.

Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Scott Hewitt traveling from Kansas City.

Bass Fishing Lake Erie is picking up and will continue to get better as the weather does. The conditions are a little windy on the lake making bed fishing slightly difficult.

You may not be able to see them but they are there. You just have to know where to cast and where to drag your baits.

Scott caught over 50 smallmouth bass on various techniques. Tubes and shaky heads were effective in the watermelon red or green pumpkin colors. A white senko also put the bass in the boat.

When the winds calm, we will be able to target the beds slightly better but those spawning bass are what we are in search for.
