Vertical Jigging Bass Fishing Trip
Lake Erie is a great place to experience what smallmouth bass fishing has to offer. Some days you will have to explore different techniques on a Vertical Jigging Bass Fishing Trip.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Mitch and his son Steve who are traveling from Ohio to catch some a variety of fish on Lake Erie.
Summer time can get a little tough especially if we are dealing with no wind. We managed to fish multiple different spots in our short trip.
A variety of different techniques were used but vertical jigging was the most effective. Mitch and Steve caught both drum and right around 10 smallmouth bass.
As the wind picked up more as the trip went on, the bite got better. The chop on the water helps produce movement which turns the smallmouth bass on.
The bass were holding in 30 to 40 foot of water with the surface water temperature at 75 degrees. It was a good day and they are looking forward to coming back next year for more action on this great lake!
